Currency is either US$ or East Caribbean (EC) $.

The great restaurants offer the freshest seafood you will ever taste and there are many culinary delights awaiting you in virtually every eating place. Most, but not all, accept credit cards.

Shopping – excellent duty free boutiques and craft markets with the two main areas being St Johns & Jolly Harbour. St Johns is the capital of Antigua an easy 20 mins drive where you will find more restaurants, musums, banks, bars, casinos etc.

Tourist boat trips to Barbuda (25 miles north of Antigua) leave from St Johns. Yachts are available for charter either crewed or bare-board for exploring offshore islands and secluded bays.

Day trips by air to neighbouring islands (like St Kitts, Montserrat and 25 others) can be booked in travel agents in St Johns at short notice with regional airlines Liat and Carib Air.

Music lovers won’t be disappointed either – a visit to Shirley Heights on Sunday afternoon to hear the steel bands and late night Regae is a must.
